Whether consciously or not, Christians tend to view marriage as the ultimate sign of spiritual maturity, and this often leaves unmarried people in the church feeling like undervalued, second-class members, relegated to the fringes of community. But if Jesus Himself, not to mention countless other leaders in the New Testament, was single―how did our church communities come to overemphasize the importance of marriage in a way that ignores/overlooks the inherent dignity of a single life?
This cohort will dive deep into biblical singleness, address some of the common lies that we believe about singleness, and explore how you (whether you’re married or single!) can value and uphold the dignity of unmarried people in the Body of Christ.
